MAREMMODA - Modelling the tastes of Tuscany - Friday 17th February 2012
The Grand finale for MareMModa’s autumn-winter season Gran finale a Roma per la stagione autunno inverno di MareMModa, a series of events promoting the fabulous region of Tuscany through ‘Bio-Couture’. This exclusive fashion collection takes its inspiration from the breathtaking scenery of Maremma, Tuscany, and from the fantastic food and wine produced there.
The tour took off with great success with the “national premiere” of the show Magliano in Toscana, which took place last November at the beautiful Tenuta Agricola dell’Uccellina farmhouse in Tuscany, followed by an elegant stop in Florence at the historic Deanna bar. Now, on friday 17th February at 19,30 the Maremma catwalk with light up Termini Station with its colours, textures, flavours and aromas.
The creators of the collection are Cinzia Dell’Omo and Silvia Arduino. Their work is inspired by Maremma’s varied landscape of streams, coastal marshes and beaches, forests and coves, coupled with the spectacular wildlife who call this natural haven their home, from wild boar to deer, badger and foxes. Not to mention the unbeatable flavours and aromas of the fantastic red and white wines produced with Maremma grapes, the delicious meats, cheeses and olive oil sourced from local farmers, and the sweet scent of Maremma wild lavender.
These two designers, working under the brand name MadCut, have always been fascinated by nature. Taken by the beauty of Maremma, and by the passion and intense flavours of its gastronomy, they have now become keen promoters of the area, sharing the magic of this natural habitat using the language they know best: fashion. Their bio collection is the perfect translation of nature into design. Every step, from first design to final product, is done completely by hand.
In its work to promote up and coming tourism in Tuscany, together with fantastic food and wine culture of this region, the tour’s stop in Rome is proud to be working alongside the Italian Tourism Board - ENIT.
La The Tenuta Agricola dell’Uccellina, sponsor of the project, is also working hard to introduce Europe to Tuscan gastronomy and culture through its range of food and wines, the Tuscany Corner.
